When all else fails

Psoriasis vulgaris is a life-long condition that can lead to numerous systemic complications. As a dermatologist, I review the patient’s history including all the medications given and their reaction to the treatment. In some instances, the patient does not respond to the step-wise ladder approach to treatment (which, mind you, is really depressing for both patient and doctor). 😪 Fortunately, biologic treatment is more readily available now. It works wonders! 🌻 But, remember, patient screening is a must to determine if you will be an eligible candidate for this treatment. Every medication has its pros and cons, and your doctor will weigh them carefully before proceeding. 🧐
