Botox for a V-Shaped Lower Face

Botulinum toxin injections is one of my most favorite treatments to have done on myself and on my patients. It literally takes away 10 years off your face in few minutes (plus 2 week waiting period for the toxin to kick in).

Let me share with you a lesser known use of botulinum toxin to achieve a more contoured lower face. Yes, we can inject botulinum toxin on the lower face too!!!

It’s a safe procedure that can be combined with other lifting treatments as well.

Ok, let me just say this, because I forgot to mention this in the video: When injecting botulinum toxin on the lower face, you will definitely feel the weakening of the muscle that was injected. That’s why there will be a limitation in your facial muscle use.

All About Syringoma

Syringomas are pesky little bumps under the eyes that seem to suddenly appear and grow in number. Although harmless, these bumps cause distress to those who have them.

I posted a number of videos this condition, and to make it easier for you, I’ve compiled the one-minute videos into one All About Syringoma video. Here, I’ll discuss the following:
– What are syringomas?
– What products can we use to flatten syringomas?
– What treatment do we do in the clinic for syringomas?
– What to expect after syringoma removal in the clinic?

What is the difference between retinol and tretinoin?

Watch the full video on YouTube!

“Retinol” and “tretinoin” fall under the unbrella-term RETINOIDS. This also includes the ingredient called “adapalene,” among others.

Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives that prompts the skin cells to turn over faster and stimulates collagen under the skin to renew. This makes the skin look fresher, younger and more plump.

Retinol is the mildest form of retinoid, commonly classified as a cosmeceutical. Adapalene is a retinoid that is said to be of similar efficacy as tretinoin but is less irritating. Tretinoin, on the other hands, is the most well-known and most bioactive form among the retinoids. The strength of a product does not only depend on the ingredient. The percentage concentration of the ingredient and the type of vehicle it is packaged in also affects the strength of a given product.

With today’s technology, many companies research and develop ways to deliver the ingredient without causing irritation to the skin. So, to be honest, there are many things to consider when labeling a certain brand or product as mild or strong. But one thing is for certain, stronger does not necessarily mean it is a better product. You must also listen to your skin. If your skin is dry, dehydrated and sensitive, go for a milder product. Patience and consistency are keys to good skin care. So once your skin is comfortable with the mild product, then you can try to step up to a stronger one.

How we remove syringoma in the clinic

We’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about syringoma removal. Apart from the earlier posts, here’s a summary of what we do in the clinic to treat syringoma.

As we’ve discussed earlier, syringoma is a deeply rooted lesion. It may take more than one treatment session to completely remove the lesion. There are a few things that you should do after the treatment too. We’ll discuss that in the next post. Stay tuned!!! 😉
